Soothing the Soul with Veil Therapy

The veil bestows many gifts on those willing to spend the time on exploring its quieter and more meditative moods. Come spend time with sister dancers under the healing canopy of the veil. Together, we will co-create a loving choreography of transformation and release for each participant.

Veil Origami: Dance of the Seven Veils

Our veil origami workshop gives participants an opportunity to explore one of the oldest dances in existence, the dance of the seven veils, in a completely sacred context. Working in a supportive and loving environment, each dancer will get the opportunity to dance with an abundance of veils, and create her own uniquely improvisational piece.

Dancing into the Darkness: Exploring the Chiftetelli
The music is beautiful, haunting, sensual, soulful and mysterious. The rhythm is powerful, pulsing, incessant and hypnotic. When we listen to the chiftetelli, we are drawn into a world beyond that of everyday existence. We are invited to surrender our attachment to ordinary consciousness, and let go into the deeper mysteries of life.
As dancers we enact and embody this transformative journey for ourselves and for our audience. In this workshop, we will explore the dance vocabulary that naturally flows from the chifetelli rhythm.

Dancing Into the Light
Let's celebrate the longest day of the year! Together, we will explore the most joyous and uplifted elements of our dance form. In this afternoon workshop, we will experiment with traveling steps, hip work, zills, veil and spinning, and their myriad and varied uses throughout a dance routine. Come, dance your way into the light.
