Frequently Asked Questions:

What does the apprenticeship involve?

When you decide to become an apprentice , you basically commit to a
year-long course of study with me. During that year you will receive; 1)
support and direction in creating your own dance goals and objectives, 2) an
opportunity to create your own curriculum with options of private and
semi-private lessons, classes, workshops and ongoing one-to-one consultation,
3) a chance to attend special apprentice gatherings and work intensively with
other like-minded dancers.

Can I study with other teachers while I am an apprenticeship?

I encourage students to continue to study with other teachers, attend
workshops and seminars, and to pursue as many as diverse dance experiences as possible. The point of the apprenticeship is to help students have a more
integrated dance experience, not to exclude other instruction or input.

"...Lorraine's skill is astounding. Her exquisite shimmies, hip work, belly flutters, and more become almost a side-note to her ability to reveal herself honestly in her dance." - A.D.

"From Lorraine I learned the power of metaphor in creating dance; I learned how everything from your eyes to your ears to your psoas muscles play a role in that divine creation. "- K.M.
